Risk management framework for a UN body

IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration. It works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners.

IOM staff work from offices in over 150 countries with over 480 field locations. Many of those are in places where there are extreme humanitarian emergencies. Any approach used for the management of risk must respect those conditions and the need to be relevant to the types of decisions that have to be supported.

Broadleaf worked closely with IOM staff to develop an approach to managing risk that followed ISO 31000:2009. In particular, the approach is based on the integration of effective processes for the management of risk within the IOM’s processes for decision-making.
