Grant Purdy has worked for a number of years with the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) helping them with guidance on risk management. Grant made a substantial contribution to the thought paper 'Bolt-on to Built-in' that has just been published by IFAC.
The paper makes the point that risk management should never be implemented in isolation; it should always be fully integrated into the organization’s overall system of management. This system should include the organization’s processes for good governance, including those for strategy and planning and making decisions in general. The paper includes a useful model for integration.
Grant Purdy recently delivered a key note speech at the RiskNZ Conference. He spoke on Hearing over the Cacophony and challenged the value of the ever-expanding multitude of artefacts, encumbrances, concocted expressions and three letter acronyms that obscure the core concepts for managing risk and clog up current risk management practice.
A new white paper on Shared services implementation by Dr Stephen Grey, Associate Director, has just been published in the Resources section of our web site.
Grant Purdy has recently published an article that tackles the difficult topic of risk management integration. This was also the subject of a presentation at a conference in Toronto.
Broadleaf has been assisting one of the major spending departments within the Victorian Government to carry out project risk assessments and resolve challenging strategic decisions.
