Community activities

Our professional activity centres on understanding the nature of success and how uncertainty can affect it for good or bad. We have an interest in the success of the community in which we live and work and we are attuned to the promotion of well being and high standards of achievement in all aspects of society.

While the scale of our business is limited, where we can we seek to promote the work of established charities and not for profit organisations and those who aspire to high quality endeavour.

We are careful not to spread our efforts so thinly that they are ineffectual. We offer targeted applications of personal time and corporate funds to support the pursuit of excellence and measures that benefit those who struggle to maintain themselves and their families.

The examples here illustrate a few of our community activities.

World Vision India

World Vision India is a Christian humanitarian organisation working to create lasting change in the lives of children, families and communities living in poverty and injustice. World Vision serves all people regardless of religion, caste, race, ethnicity or gender. All development work World Vision India carries out is focused on building the capacity and ability of communities and families to ensure the wellbeing of children. The wellbeing of children includes ensuring children have access to education, health, protection and participation.

Two senior executives of World Vision India attended an enterprise risk management workshop in Mumbai, conducted by Broadleaf with our Indian partners and friends at Sama Audit Systems & Softwares. Since then we have assisted World Vision India by providing peer reviews of its ERM framework and processes, provided risk management training to senior risk and security personnel from across the region, and worked with the World Vision India executive team.

Broadleaf Capital International Scholarship

For some years we funded the Broadleaf Capital International Scholarship. The Scholarship was awarded to highly talented people intending to pursue a course of study or a career related to risk management or corporate governance. It was to support them while undertaking a full-time MBA at the Australian Graduate School of Management.

The AGSM is part of the UNSW Business School, Australia's premier business school, at the University of NSW.
