PMI Australia Conference – Adelaide 2016 (PMIAC 2016)

Complexity is on everyone's lips but there is little useful guidance on how to move beyond traditional systems analysis and management methods to work in a truly complex environment. Risk is often described as one of the consequences of complexity although the links between them is rarely explained. At PMIAC 2016 Stephen Grey will describe how we can understand complexity in terms of everyday project work and how we can approach complex projects effectively.

Stephen will also describe how well meaning approaches to managing complex projects can set them up for failure. Heroic attempts to lock down scope and enforce a plan with an iron fist can actually create risks for complex projects. When interactions between stakeholders can influence the course and even the final destination of the work, something different is required.
