Strategic risk assessment

Broadleaf facilitated a risk assessment focusing on the risks of failing to achieve the objectives of the Royal Botanic Gardens & Domain Trust and the Corporate Plan for 2006-2010.

The risk assessment examined the annual strategic objectives of the Trust and the Corporate Plan and documented the risks of failing to achieve them. Broadleaf then assisted the Trust with formulating treatments for the prioritised risks and where the controls were lacking.

Broadleaf facilitated a number of workshops to:

  • Establish the context of the risk assessment
  • Identify, analyse and evaluate risks
  • Formulate treatment plans for prioritised risks and controls.

These workshops involved the various Directors and managers within the Trust.

Each year the Trust updates its strategic risk assessment, which is then used as a basis for its internal audit plan. Assurance providers would be able to use the risk assessment report to find information about the critical controls and the risks they are intended to modify.
