Public sector decision making

Three important projects within the Victorian public sector facing challenges in arriving at an agreed way forward and choosing between complex options engaged Broadleaf to plan, facilitate and report upon risk assessments.

Through carefully planned and facilitated workshops, one project was able to arrive at a previously elusive consensus among its diverse stakeholders who were drawn from operations, policy, and central offices. It was also able to identify systemic and strategic risks that it needed to address in order to assure long term success.

The other two projects were facing decisions that had been under consideration for an extended period of time. Timing of events and risk exposure played a key role in both of these projects. Using a comparative risk assessment that clarified the nature of the risks involved with pursuing each option it was possible to identify a preferred way forward with each of them and Steering Committee approval was granted shortly afterwards.
